EQUINE ASSISTED SERVICES

Our Equine Colleagues

At The Therapeutic Tutors we have a team of horses whose strengths and personalities are matched to our clients needs. Our horses are not simply tools, but sentient partners in the therapeutic process. We prioritize their choice, voice, and consent. This means we listen to their cues, respect their boundaries, and ensure they feel safe and comfortable in every interaction.

EQUINE FACILITATED LEARNING & OTHER SERVICES

Our Human Colleagues

All of our facilitators are dual trained — meaning that, alongside being accredited Equine-Facilitated Learning Practitioners, they also bring professional experience and qualifications across a range of fields.

Their backgrounds span education, mental health, coaching, leadership, care, and horsemanship, bringing a rich mix of insight and experience to every session.

This diversity makes our facilitators creative, adaptive, and resourceful problem-solvers.
They communicate with warmth and clarity, drawing on both professional and lived experience to meet people where they are.

With curiosity, compassion, and without judgment, our human colleagues help clients explore new perspectives, build confidence, and find calm in connection — with themselves, others, and the horses.

Seeking support with The Therapeutic Tutors means encountering practitioners who prioritize your safety and healing. Trained in trauma-informed and attachment-aware practices, they create a warm and understanding space where you can explore your emotional landscape at your own pace.

I’m going to take more time. The horses give you time to think and I’m going to take that from them. They feel it. They feel our thoughts. Last week was a big deal. Bea and I had to really work with some stubborn thoughts, my stubborn thoughts and she gave me the feedback I needed. I need to focus on my interests not the drama…

“I understand myself better and how I respond and react to things. The being with another animal and matching our breath. Calming with another being. Yeah, it can work both ways – energy up or energy down.”
