Our approach
At The Therapeutic Tutors, we are a community of trauma-informed, attachment-aware practitioners, educators and therapists who believe meaningful change happens through safe, relational experiences.
Working alongside our horses, we create calm, non-judgemental spaces where people can slow down, connect, reflect and learn. Our work combines therapeutic, educational and psychologically informed approaches with experiential learning in the presence of our herd.
Each practitioner brings their own specialist skills and professional background, while the horses offer something uniquely powerful: honest, immediate, non-verbal feedback that supports emotional regulation, self-awareness, boundaries, trust and connection.
We do not see horses as tools, but as respected partners in the learning process. Their welfare, choice and wellbeing remain central to everything we do.
Together, horse and human create opportunities for curiosity, growth, reflection and change.
‘EFL has been a profound emotionally charged learning experience. It has been a powerful journey of deep reflection and connection, discovering opportunities for healing. I understand now that I have been completely stuck in survival mode, often feeling disconnected, overwhelmed and dissociated. EFL has enabled me to identify, understand and process my emotions. I am feeling strong emotional responses sometimes painful, I am able to sit with these without judgement or fear.’
